The Sky Lagoon Premises
The Sky Lagoon opened its doors in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic to local delight. Sky Lagoon is just 15 minutes drive from the capital city and yet overlooks the open water with stunning views. You’d be forgiven for thinking newly built spa is in the middle of nowhere, managing to effortlessly hide you from the outside world for a few wonderful hours.
The water you are bathing in is naturally heated geothermal water from deep underground. The warm water is redirected into the rocky pool and keeps a constant warm (but never too hot) temperature in the main pool.

The 7 Step Ritual
The unique 7 step ritual was designed specifically with Icelandic bathing culture in mind and adds an extra element to your bathing experience.
Step 1 : Slow, down, relax in the lagoon (entering the geothermal waters for the first time)
Step 2: Cool down with the cold plunge (optional separate pool for the adventurous among you)
Step 3: Relax with a view in the sauna (with breathtaking ocean views)
Step 4: Refresh in a cold fog-mist (very refreshing after the sauna)
Step 5: The Sky body scrub (re-invigorate with an Icelandic sea salt scrub)
Step 6: Steam room (speaks for itself, very relaxing)
Step 7: Shower and relax in the lagoon (rinse off and re-join the main pool, check out the in-water bar)
