If you are looking for an action packed day straight from Reykjavík then this snowmobile and ice cave tour is for you! Your local guide will take you by super truck onto the mighty Langjökull icecap where you will swap onto a snowmobile to find a newly discovered ice cave.
Amazing Tours Ice Cave.
PLEASE NOTE: This includes pick up and drop off from Reykjavík. If you are self driving and wish to meet on location click here.
This tour is a total of 8-10 hours, including time to travel to the ice cap with 1 hour on the snowmobile riding across the glacier. You will then spend around 45 minutes exploring the icy surface and ice cave on foot. It takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes each way to get to the glacier base camp with the remainder of the time being allocated to prep and logistics.
That’s only a part of the experience, as the view from atop the ice cap is quite incomparable with a 360 degree view of the highlands and icecap. On a clear day, you will be able to see Eiríksjökull Glacier (the highest mountain in west Iceland), Hofsjökull Glacier and the Kerlingafjöll Mountains. What a view!
There are scheduled departures most days. You can choose between a shared ride or single ride occupancy. If you are interested in a more intimate experience then you can drop us an email to learn about their private options.
