Join Hidden Iceland for an extended glacier hike on one of our favourite outlet glaciers of the mighty Vatnajökull. You will get up close and personal to the the astonishingly beautiful blue ice formations during our hike on the Falljökull glacier. This is always a highlight of any trip to Iceland.
PLEASE NOTE: This tour is not currently running as a stand alone event. To hike on the Falljökull glacier you can join our 2 Day Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon & Glacier Hike or alternatively if you are self-driving you can join our partner tour glacier hikes or even join us on a different glacier hike on the Sólheimajökull during our South Coast: Fire and Ice tour.
We explore the glacier in detail on this hike, taking about fours hours to get some amazing views of the ice fall. In winter we get the added bonus of visiting an ice cave, getting us within the blue ice of the Falljökull glacier. This glacier hike is considered of moderate difficulty, with a moderate fitness required. You can expect to walk about six kilometres over uneven and ascending terrain. If the weather makes accessing Falljökull unsafe we have many other incredible outlet glaciers in the region to explore instead, we can usually find a sheltered glacier in one of the valleys.
