Want to enjoy Iceland’s most popular sights in an even more exciting and adventurous way? Then this tour run by ACTIVITY ICELAND is for you. This day includes crossing mountain tracks in a customised super jeep and snowmobiling across one of Iceland’s largest glaciers, as well as visiting Iceland’s must see sights.
In the morning you will be picked up by your Activity Iceland guide in one of their modified Super Jeep’s and driven to the famous Þingvellir National Park. This National Park holds historical and geological significance and Þingvellir is the site of the first known parliament in the world, where many of Iceland’s most important decisions were made. It is also a place of incredible beauty, sitting in the rift valley of the separating North American and Eurasian tectonic plates.
The next stop you get to witness the wonders of the geothermal area of Geysir, the original exploding geyser, and its surrounding steam vents. From there it is only a short drive on to the next stop, where you will be in awe of the force of Gullfoss, one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls. On sunny days, rainbows appear in the mist of this golden hued waterfall.
After Gullfoss you are taken in to the highlands to where the true action starts. You will see why the Super Jeep is needed, as you drive through rugged landscapes and rough terrain, up towards Langjökull glacier. Prepare for a smooth but exhilarating ride.
Once you reach the snow, you will join a one hour guided snowmobile tour across this amazing glacier landscape. All the gear for the snowmobile tour is included, for a warm and safe journey.
This is not your normal Golden circle tour, so be ready for the tour of a life time!
